On the National register of Historic Places this lift bridge, completed in 1931, spans the St. Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The bridge consists of ten fixed steel trusses spanning 1,050 feet while the vertically lifting span rises 140 feet. The design was the last one of six built in Minnesota and Wisconsin early in the last century - the Stillwater Bridge is one of three remaining.
