Exchange Street in Saint Paul II
Saint Paul, Minnesota - Oil on Canvas - 2016
In downtown Saint Paul, there is a quaint street called Exchange. Bill Hosko’s original painting of it from 2007 depicted a warm, rainy, early evening as patrons make their way to the Fitzgerald Theatre - named after Saint Paul’s famed author F. Scott Fitzgerald. In 2016, Bill played Mother Nature and added snow to the original scene for a holiday season effect. In addition to the numerous live performances the Fitzgerald hosts annually, this theatre is the primary home of Garrison Keillor’s acclaimed radio program A Prairie Home Companion. Also, depicted from right to left: Central Towers senior residences, the Exchange Building, Central Presbyterian Church and The Pointe condominiums tower. (Oil high-lights added to canvas print)
