Vandalia Post Office and School
Vandalia, Montana - Pen and Ink - 2004
Vandalia, in Valley County, was established in 1904 with a post office and a store along the Hi-Line of the Great Northern Railway - today the BNSF Railroad, and the Milk River in northeast Montana. The historic, and architecturally picturesque, Vandalia school, was erected in 1912. The community's chief industry was the manufacture of bricks that were used in public buildings across Montana. The closed school and grocery are today the most visible remnants of the former town.
