The LeDuc Mansion and surrounding estate, circa 1866, was originally the home of William and Mary Leduc - prominent early European settlers in Minnesota Territory who played significant roles in its becoming the United States’ 32nd State. William LeDuc also served as a volunteer officer and later as a general in the Civil War. After the war, the family was involved in multiple business ventures, including establishing Minnesota’s first railroad.
