Saint Paul is known as the City of Neighborhoods. The Crocus Hill neighborhood, one mile west of downtown, is one of this city’s most stately and well maintained.  Its southern edge follows the high bluff overlooking the Mississippi river valley while its north edge is the famed Summit Avenue.  The scene depicted here is along Crocus Hill Avenue, near Dale Street.  Each spring some of the lawns in this area become lovely carpets of blue and purple crocus’.
