“The Cathedral of Saint Paul”

“One of the most beautiful buildings in the world” says artist Bill Hosko. His painting captures the romance and loveliness of this Saint Paul, Minnesota edifice which was completed in 1915 and overlooks the downtown skyline and Mississippi river valley. The Cathedral’s interior, which can seat 3,000 comfortably, is every bit as breathtaking as its exterior.
In the painting a spring snow has fallen in Saint Paul and throughout the day it has been melting away. Remnants still grace the Cathedral and surrounding landscape during the day’s last light. Nearby streetlamps begin to brighten and if you look closely, a pair of blue birds survey the scene, hopeful of what the next day may bring.
